The Trento is home to one of Italy’s unique red wines, Teroldego Rotaliano.
The Teroldego grape is virtually unknown to the wider world, largely since it rarely leaves the alluvial high plain of Rotaliano, where only 33,700 hl of wine are produced.
The most famous producer, Elizabetta Foradori, has done first class work promoting the wine and, along with a handful of producers, has raised its quality to world class.
The region is also famed for Marzamino (we shall return to that) and Nosiola, a delicate and exquisite white.
